Cozy Cottage Bedroom

More cozy cottage charm for you today!

Last time, we toured the living area of this wonderful getaway...
You can read more about this project here and here...

And today, let's check out the Master bedroom.
You can just see it through the amazing sliding barn doors.

Or not...

It's a little jewel box of a room,
filled by the owners with great colors and textures.

Love this serene sailboat

and this seaside print that reminds me of all of the hours
we have all spent together by the water with our children...

Love the bedding mix

Texture!

The furniture arrangement on this wall is just right.
There is never enough storage in a cottage, so these pieces fit the bill.

The wardrobe for hanging clothes

and the dresser by the window for primping.

Again, great textures!

And great details like a new bead board ceiling
and this cute little hat rack...

Here's to many more years of idyllic days together on this heavenly beach...

It's going to be Just Grand!

Cozy Beach Cottage Continued

What could be better on a gray winter day than
more cozy beach cottage pictures?

You remember this cozy cottage...

Here are a few posts with updates like this one

and this one about the Sunroom

Last time, I teased you with a peek into the main rooms of the cottage.

Let's go in...

This is the main room of the cottage.
A great room that leads to all of the other rooms.

It has skylights and loft spaces and lots of comfy, beachy seating.

And of course, great pillows...

Here is the view from the kitchen looking towards the sunroom.

Don't you love the barn doors???

Here they are in progress...

These doors were inspired by our friends Joan and Bruce,
whose blissful beach house was featured in this post.
Bruce built these doors (below) and they are perfect.

The new barn doors work so well in this cozy cottage too.

And they give you a peek into the master bedroom.
More on that room next time.

So many details...

And great textures

Love this tray and the burlap polka dot coasters!

This charming cabinet belonged to the previous owner.
It adds some great height and warmth to the room.

So beachy and cozy and wonderful.

Nice to think about on this gray day!

Cozy Beach Cottage

You're in for a special treat today!

Lots of cozy beach cottage charm to see
and drool over...

Faithful readers will recall that last year,
good friends of our purchased the cottage next door to ours.
You can read about the cottages here and here.

Here is a "Before" photo of both cottages.
Their cottage is on the left, below, looking like a palace compared to ours, on the right!

Fast forward seven years, and lots of nice things have happened here!

I''ll show you more outside pictures in the spring.

For today, let's go inside and we'll start with the sunroom.
It's at the very front of the cottage, and the door above opens into it.
Well, not that ugly construction door above, but a nice new custom glass door...
Anyway, come on in!

There's the new door, on the right.
Much better!

And here's a view of the sunroom from the main living room.

It has great views of Lake Michigan and some enormous evergreen trees
which can be enjoyed from this comfy chair
in this charming corner.

The new owners have a great sense of style
and have furnished the cottage with lots of delightful details.

Love the artwork

And the lamp

And the pillows

Even the puppy has a coordinated cozy bed

The original Douglas Fir floors were stripped and refinished.
They add a nice, casual warm tone that really grounds the rooms.

The walls are all painted Crisp Linen from Sherwin Williams.
It's a great color that's not too beige or too yellow or too gray.
It's just beachy.

The fish table is so cute and clever, the way it folds up out of the way.

And this graphic rug!
Great design and practical indoor outdoor material too.

Below, left,  you can see the door that leads to the front guest bedroom.

Here's a peek at this sunny, cozy space.

A masterful mix of pillows

And a cute bedside table that just fits

I love the colors and the patterns and the textures.
Very beachy and still sophisticated.

Here's a peek into the main living room.

That's just to tease you...
More on the other wonderful rooms next time!

Stay tuned.
